Hot town, summer in the city

Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting burnt and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
-The Lovin' Spoonful

It's been in the upper 90's with a heat index of over 100 for the past three days. My dorm room doesn't have air conditioning. Even though it's on the ground floor and its a little cooler than on the third floor its by no means cool. I've taken refuge in the (nicely air condidtioned) library this evening. The last two nights were spent in my dorm's TV room which has two window mounted AC units. There were enough people in there tonight, however, that thier body heat was starting to negate what good the AC was doing. The weather channel says that there's a storm rolling in tonight and it should be back in the upper 70's tomorrow. One can only hope. That's the news from the surface of the sun.
