Return of the Blogger

Hello everyone out there in reader-land. Did you miss me? Well, I'm back and I just might be starting something cool that would have me blogging regularly again. But, you'll have to read to the end of the post to find out what it is.

Let's see, where did I leave off... ah, yes, 6 months ago at the end of summer semester. Well, the summer ended and I moved all my junk from the summer housing in Zimmerman hall back to Davis hall right before going home for my "real" summer vacation, 2 weeks at home.

When I came back to Western it was the start of the Fall semester. My final semester. I came back a few days early, so it wasn't suprising that my roommate hadn't moved in yet. When classes started and he hadn't showed up, I started to get worried. Turns out he only came up Sunday through Wednesday for class and went back to Detroit to work some fantastic job on the weekends. He was a nice guy, just not around much. Fall semester saw my last 3 classes. All were pretty cool, informative type classes. I also held down a job all semester washing dishes in the cafeteria where I ate.

At the end of the semester I did the whole commencement thing, walked across the stage, got my empty tube symbolizing the piece of paper I earned. Right after graduation (I mean, like after the ceremony let out) I moved home.

The spring finds me living in my mother's basement (how cliche) and looking for short term work while I wait for my diploma to be processed. I still seek to find a job teaching in Japan when my degree finally comes.

In my searches for work however, I came across a job offering at the Japanese Consulate in Detroit. The job offer is for a Driver / Office worker and I'm really pulling for it. I would push back my Japan plans for a job like this. And, being the place where JET applications get turned in, perhaps it would help get a leg up for that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Well, that more or less catches up to present. Hopefully I'll be a little more dutiful in my updates, or at least find something interesting to write about. Until then.

Ja Mata Ne!
